i was really inspired to pick this book up after reading What the Buddha Taught by Walpola Rahula. And appropriately titled The Heritage of the Bhikku, it is really just a chronological history of the Bhikkhu.... informative but not an exciting read.

Best winemaking book I have purchased!

I have been buying up winemaking books this past few years as I purchased a small vineyard in 2010 and am now starting to make wine (or try to anyway).

I bought many good books and read them cover to cover and learned much valuable info, but this book, man-o-man! From the minute I received it and opened the pages I was stunned as to how much better this book is to the library of other books I have.

This book takes a topic and explains it to a degree no other book does. It gives reasons to the practices and why they are the way they are. It breaks down the wine making process into easy to understand yet very scientific ways to help you make good if not great wine. A sure sign it goes into depth, the amount written. This book is twice the size (page count) then any other I have.

I sure wish I found this book a year ago!

If you are starting out or have been making wine for years I am sure this book will help you.

Best single book about winemaking I've ever read

Hands down, this is the best single book I've ever read about winemaking. Written in plain English, with lots of charts, tables, and photographs to help you understand the process of making and properly filtering, bottling, and storing wine. The author is very approachable and has answered all the emails I have sent him about the topic. Daniel Pambianchi has a scientific background, so he can certainly provide the gritty chemistry details if you are so inclined. I have met him and attended his lectures at winemaking seminars... you simply must get this book and meet him if at all possible. You will not regret it.

I think his book is wonderful

I am a amateur winemaker so when I started to look for a book, Pambianchi was mentioned on several websites as one you should have. I know other reviews will state a lot more facts but those who rated this a five star or a four star are right on. I have a number of books, hundreds of printed out pages from internet sources and several well written PDF booklets. I think of all the books I have is the best so far. lastly, maybe there are other books which are better and I have not bought those yet but you cannot go wrong with his book.

I raise Tamworth breed hogs on pasture in New England and applaud this author for sticking his snout in rarely disturbed ground for this genre, raising uncomfortable topics such as class and race and why foodies at upscale metropolitan farmers' markets frequently inquire about sustainable environmental practices but never ask about sustainable wages for farm laborers or meat processors at the regional abbatoir. One criticism: this book is written by an academic in academese, a language I do not speak and cannot understand. Two examples: "Authenticity is plainly an ethnographically observable motivation, but it is also a complex symbolic form that I argue needs to be better theorized, rather than dissolved as epiphenomenal in a constructivist framework of invented traditions and fetishized commodities." And later, "An appreciation of this innovative taste--a capacity for discernment, both objectified and subjectified--is, therefore, a dimension of a reconfigured sensory field entailed in the reproduction of pigs in a local landscape." Informatinal guide to IEEE1149.1

Since the mid-1970s, the structural testing of the loaded printed circuit boards (PCBs) has relied very heavily on the use of the so-called in-circuit "bed-of-nails" technique. This method of testing makes use of a fixture containing a bed-of-nails to access individual devices on the board through test lands laid into the copper interconnect, or other convenient contact points. Testing then proceeds in two phases: the power-off tests followed by power-on tests. Power-off tests check the integrity of the physical contact between nail and the on-board access point. They then carry out open and shorts tests based on impedance measurements. Power-on tests apply stimulus to a chosen device on a board, with an accompanying measurement of the response from that device. Other devices that are electrically connected to the device-under-test (DUT) are usually placed into a safe state (a process called "guarding"). In this way, the tester is able to check the presence, orientation, and bonding of the DUT in place of the board.
Fundamentally, the in-circuit bed-of-nails technique relies on physical access to all devices on a board. Such was the technique in the mid-1980s when a group of concerned test engineers got together to examine the problem and its solutions. The method of solution was based on the concept of a serial shift register around the boundary of the device - hence the name "boundary scan".
Principles of Boundary Scan
Each primary input signal and primary output signal is supplemented with a multi-purpose memory element called a boundary-scan cell. Cells on device primary inputs are referred to as "input cells"; cells on the primary output are referred to as "output cells". The input and outputs is relative to the core logic of the device. The collection of the boundary cells is configured into a parallel-in, parallel-out shift register. A parallel load operation, called a "capture" operation, causes signal values on device input pins to be loaded into input cells and, signal values passing from the core logic to the device output pins to be loaded into output cells. A parallel unload operation called an "update" operation causes signal values already present in the output scan cells to be passes out through the device output pins. Signal values already present in the input scan cells will be passed into the core logic.
Data can also be shifted around the shift register, in serial mode, starting from a dedicated device input called TDI and terminating at a dedicated device output pin called TDO. The test clock TCK, is fed in via another dedicated device input pin and the mode of operation is controlled by a dedicated TMS serial control signal. At the device level, the boundary scan elements contribute nothing to the functionality of the core logic. In fact, the boundary scan path is independent of the function of the device. On board the four; boundary scan devices are connected from one to the next in a serial format. The TDI input to the board is connected to the TDI input of the first device; the TDO output of the first device is connected to the TDI input of the next device; and so forth; creating a global scan path terminating at the TDO connecter output. TCK is connected in parallel to each device, TMS the control pin works similarly.
In this way, particular tests can be applied to the device interconnects via the global scan path by loading the stimulus into the appropriate device output scan cells via the edge connecter TDI (shift-in operation), applying the stimulus (update operation), capturing the responses at the device input scan cells (capture operation), and shifting the response values out to the edge connector TDO (shift-out operation). Essentially the boundary scan cells can be thought of as the "virtual nail".
There are four modes to be aware of normal, update, capture, and serial shift. During normal mode, data_in is passed straight through to Data_out. During update mode, the content of the output register is passed through the Data_out. During capture mode, the Data_in signal is routed to the shift register and the value is captured by the next ClockDr state. During shift mode, the scan_out of the register flip flop is passed through to the scan_in of the next via a hard wired path.

Kudos Stephen!

We all adore our favourite sports personalities and Stephen Curry is one of them. He’s one of the best shooters that NBA has ever seen. As a kid, Stephen wasn’t very huge and no one ever thought that this meek kid is ever going to play an international sport. He had an outstanding record when he graduated high school. However, he weighed one hundred and sixty pounds and was just six feet tall. The coaches he came across told him he was ‘too small’ to play basketball. However, that didn’t deter this young lad from pursuing his dream of making it big in the NBA. This is a story of a legend, a biography of Stephen Curry, written by David Steel. Read this book and get inspired.

I haven't been watching basketball like I used to and I saw some stories about ...

This is a well written book. I learned all about Stephen Curry. I haven't been watching basketball like I used to and I saw some stories about Stephen Curry after he won the championship. I saw the interviews with his daughter and I was interested in his story. I loved how the story was written without ruining the events of his life for those who do not know. He got where he is today by hard work. I really like inspirational stories and this is one of its kind. Inspirational stories have a lot to learn from and so is this one. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who like real life stories.

I find this book a good read...

I am not much of an NBA fan, but I do get to watch some games because I have kids who dig basketball. reading this book has been inspiring for me. I think the goal of this book is to make readers know that his life can be a good example that when one perseveres and does his best, he will reach his goal no matter. Curry's life is a living proof of this, especially when he was looked down after graduating from high school. But because he loves his craft and he did his best, he is where he is now. I find this book a good read, biographies are always a great read for me. It has been written well too.
