Well Written. Good Plot. Strong Heroine and Hero= Enjoyable Quick Read :-)
By E.Capri
I am a fan of Harlequin’s Presents line and have been for several years, and I am the first to tell you that the storylines can and have been done to death, however there are times when even a done to death plot can have new life breathed into it, in the case of the story of Trinity and Zahid this is true.
Trinity and Zahid’s story starts out simple enough, Zahid is a friend of Trinity’s older brother and she hero worships him from afar as the years progress she develops a school girl crush on him; Zahid himself has a strained friendship with Trinity’s brother due to an incident that happened while at school together; he also feels that Trinity’s parents are opportunist that have befriended him because of his status and wealth. The story opens with Zahid attending a party at Trinity’s parent’s home, teenage Trinity is hiding out from her overbearing parents and is discovered by Zahid who is counting down the minutes before he can escape from the party and Trinity’s family. Despite the fact that Zahid really doesn’t like Trinity’s family he has grown to like Trinity herself, and has developed a friendship with her, but feels a little sorry for the young girl and the mess that is her family; after Zahid discovers where Trinity is hiding out he begins to question her about where she’s been and lectures her about the importance of family commitments; unbeknownst to him Trinity’s family life isn’t what it seems, before Zahid leaves the party Trinity asked to leave with him, but he gently refuses her.
Fast forward several years later Zahid finds himself grudgingly being a part of Trinity’s brother’s wedding party, where he meets up with a now adult Trinity, and from the outside it seems as though she is still the airheaded, inconsiderate black sheep of the family, at least where her family is concerned, however through a course of events Zahid is able to see beyond the façade that Trinity has created to the person she truly is, which is light years from what she shows her family and the rest of the world.
I don’t want to give away anymore of the plot or any spoilers, however I really enjoyed this book, it dealt with some delicate and true to real life issues that the author handle with great care, she didn’t try and gloss over it, but neither did she allow for the heroine to be a tragedy queen, and the hero was well suited. Yes, he definitely had an alpha personality but not in the sense that he was a Neanderthal or completely devoid of understanding and empathy for the heroine when it was called for; of course there was an HAE however it was one that left me feeling as though there would be a lot of work for both Trinity and Zahid and their families to do in order to get to a comfortable place with one another.
I would recommend this book as a quick weekend read, you won’t regret it. Happy Reading!

Rebellious heroine with darkly intense past
By audrey
Prince Zahid is honor bound to keep up the friendship with the Foster family but is continually appalled by their scandalous behavior. The only highlight to each visit is getting to see the willful Trinity and remembering the passionate kiss they shared. However the playful Trinity he once knew has become troubled by secrets she can't reveal. Learning a portion of her secret he whisks her away to his homeland to keep her safe but he must choose a bride soon and her presence more than complicates the situation. This is the second book in the Alpha Heroes Meet Their Match series, it can also be read as a stand alone.
More Precious Than A Crown is a romantic story from Harlequin Presents. Trinity's family is wealthy and dysfunctional but always manages to keep up appearances. She's avoided family events ever since she was brutally betrayed by one of them. Everyone knows what transpired but no one will let her speak out or even acknowledge what happened. She's slowly reemerging from her life's reckless downward spiral and is happy to be reunited with Zahid again. Zahid was always someone she could trust and she hopes he can also help her overcome the damage that's been done.
Trinity was a surprisingly different type of heroine but managed to remain likable. Where Zahid is honest and straightforward, Trinity is more likely to contradict herself and offer half truths. She's garnered a shady public reputation but through the course of the story those rumors are gradually proven false. Her brash behavior stems from anger and deep seated grief as a result of a intensely tragic past.
I liked Zahid's character and it was interesting to learn his family's history as well as where his values stem from. His characterization as a duty bound prince made him a bit bland in comparison to the other characters who were all given more attention and seemed more rounded. Zahid's sister, Layla, stood out the most and I was happy to learn that she also has her own book.
Overall, I enjoyed reading the story. I thought it wrapped up nicely by addressing all the main issues and I liked that it introduced the setup for Layla's subsequent story.

Tough background story
By Sandy Milan
+++Spoilers+++
I like HP and the usual tough, alpha Hs but this story was a little different. I know this author and she usually delivers a good story and her writing is good. This book has a dark side and although I saw it coming, I didn't love it. It is a romance and the story is good but be warned there is the background of the h being abused.
