Some fun ideas

Overall one can cherry pick some really fun ideas from this book, but it is scant on information about how to integrate sensory bins into play. Also some of the suggestions feel a bit improbable or like the authors were stretching to come up with enough material. Worth the free read, however, and I'm sure I will use some of the activities suggested.

This Grandmother was intrigued by the idea of sensory play, and this book gave me the basics as well as wonderful and plentiful suggestions for customizing the boxes. Varied ideas of filler (not just rice and noodles) as well as seasonal, holiday, and color ideas for the "extras" make this book a highly recommended resource.

Hilarious, weird, awesome stories.

Hilarious stories from a true comic genius. It's scary but I think my mind works in a similar way to Limmy's own twisted mind - he manages to write about those weird things that go on in your head but you dont really tell anyone about them because you can't put them into words, but somehow Limmy does it, and does it really well. If you like the TV show you will love this book. If you don't like the TV show because you can't understand the accents then you'll love this book! Please keep writing Limmy!! :)

The book works through and beyond security studies to explore possible spaces where an opening of security, necessary to make way for feminist insights, can take place. While it develops and illustrates a feminist narrative approach to security, it is also intended as an intervention that challenges the politics of security and the meanings for security legitimized in existing practices.

About the Author

Annick T.R. Wibben is Assistant Professor of Politics and International Studies as well as Chair of the interdisciplinary Bachelor Program in International Studies at the University of San Francisco (USF), USA. From 2001- 2005 she was the Co-Investigator of the Information Technology, War and Peace Project at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University, USA.

Brilliant, thought provoking book

The book is brilliant; it gets to the crux of the issue/s concerned, makes its points exceptionally well and builds up a strong case for an FSS underpinned by feminist political and methodological concerns. It clearly distinguishes Feminist Security Studies (FSS) from Critical Security Studies (CSS) and calls to accept insecurity and to learn to live in a state of vulnerability. More than anything though Wibben establishes a strong voice and research project which makes a strong meaningful intervention into Security Studies and IR.

Questions of security are central to International Relations (IR) and Wibben creates an opening in Security Studies that allows women's narratives to be heard and challenges how security is conceptualised within IR. She does this through developing a feminist narrative approach that examines women's narratives of security, which she uses to read approaches to security and to develop a (FSS).

Wibben examines narratives of events, including those of 9/11, to offer fresh insights about women's experiences of (in)security that she uses to challenge existing security narratives. Using a feminist narrative approach she looks at how meaning is produced and gives superbly detailed analyses of feminisms and IR, Security Studies, and Critical Security Studies through which she outlines a FSS, using feminist political and methodological commitments to bring feminist concerns to Security Studies. Wibben shows that policies of security may actually lead to, and reinforce insecurity for some, and that as security is perhaps something that may never be fully realised, that we may need to learn to live in the face of vulnerability.

Feminist Security Studies: A narrative approach is an original, challenging and thought provoking contribution to Security Studies and IR, which provides an opening through which the meaning(s) of security may be examined.

About the Author
Adam Roberts is 36 and a Senior Reader in English at London University. His first novel, "Salt" was nominated for the Arthur C Clarke Award. Aside from his numerous novels, he has also published a number of academic works on both 19th century poetry and SF. He currently resides in London.

Benedict Kingsbury is Murry and Ida Becker Professor of Law and director of the Institute for International Law and Justice at New York University School of Law. In addition to being co-Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of International Law he is the editor and co-editor of over fifteen books, including International Financial Institutions and Global Legal Governance (2011).

Probably the most comprehensive and useful book on the UN

Oxford academic Adam Roberts, long considered the most influential expert on the subject of the UN system, has produced an excellent book, with great academic rigour, very comprenehsive, and very concise (or at least as concise as it could possibly be, given the enormous amount and variety of issues covered therein). With great ability, the author manages to highlight the positive and negative sides of the UN system and its work, criticizing them where appropriate and by giving very thorough explanations, and praising them in other respects. It offers information and analysis on the major challenges confronted by the UN in the recent past, and those likely to arise in the near future. The book is an absolute must for anyone wishing to know more on the UN system. It is suitable both for those intending to learn the basics, and those who are on a start of deep research work on the subject. It is a serious academic study, yet easy to read and even enjoyable.
